The Mt. Juliet Senior Activity Center has an abundance of activities planned for fall. You will want to mark your calendars for holiday programs and events.
Stay Fit and Well with a variety of exercise classes: Silver Sneakers Classic, Circuit and Cardio are being offered as well as Yoga, Tai Chi and Line dance. There is no extra fee for classes for members.
Trips and Travel are a big hit at the center. Trips to Branson, New Orleans, Niagara Falls, Mackinaw Island and San Antonio are being scheduled as well as day trips to theatres, shopping and holiday shows.
Bravo Theatre, the center’s in-house theatre company and the Senior Choir perform monthly at lunch time. The performances are FREE but you should call in advance to make a reservation for lunch.
The mission of the Mt. Juliet Senior Activity Center is to provide a place for older adults aged 55+ to gather for social, recreational and educational programs and to alleviate isolation and loneliness among the elderly. Dues are just $30 per year (prorated quarterly) and most programs are no or low cost. Price includes a FREE T-Shirt. Programs are offered in Arts & Crafts, Drama & Music, Recreation, Education, Special Events, Community Services, Socials and Wellness.
Volunteer opportunities are available for all ages. A new Capital Campaign Committee is being formed to raise funds for the new senior center building. Thanks to a generous gift of land the center will begin the important campaign soon. If you would like to be a part of this committee call Linda McClanahan, Executive Director at 758-9114.
